Christmas has left me with many gift cards, and New Year's Eve has me dreaming up some shimmery and shiny outfits! You don't want to miss Nordstrom's Annual Half-Yearly sale (happening now-January 2!) because there are some GREAT finds. We're talking Free People dresses, Halogen knee-high booties, and even this Kate Spade Velvet Clutch on sale for under $100. Give yourself the gift of style for the new year and order some of these guilt-free sale picks so spice up your 2018 wardrobe.
MISS MADDS' TOP PICKS
These products are my absolute favorites from the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale! I like how these can be worn together for an edgy-chic look. I've always loved all things black and leather, but my style can be pretty girly as well. These picks are the best of both worlds for me!
BOOTIES
THE best time to shop for booties is at the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale! It's not too cold in the South just yet, so these low sale prices are great if you're wanting to stock up. And you can't miss the iconic Steve Madden Thigh High Boots on sale. I have a similar pair that I wear to every nice gathering I attend in the winter! The suede is super warm and they make everything look just a little more styled.
SWEATERS
I'm very picky about my sweaters, and I always have the best luck when shopping for them at Nordstrom. Some of my favorite brands are BP and Leith, but Topshop also has some great options. My favorite from above is the Topshop Wide Sleeve Sweater in Nude. It's great worn with jeans or tucked into a skirt for work, and the sleeves add just a little flair to the otherwise classic cut.
DENIM
Black jeans are a staple in my closet no matter the season, and I'm definitely going to be investing in the Jamie Exposed Zip Lace-Up Ankle Skinny Jeans by Topshop for this winter. If you're buying Topshop jeans, be sure you go up a size for comfort! I'm normally a 2-4 but wear a 4-6 in the Jamie since they are skin-tight otherwise. You don't want to suffer through wearing too-tight high-waisted jeans all day long!
CARDIGANS
Cardigans are another picky piece for me. I need something that's thick enough to keep me warm, but thin enough to where I won't be too hot inside during the winter. It needs to be baggy but not too baggy, and can't wear out too quickly! Here are a few quality picks that I would buy for the winter (and probably pair with dresses in the summer as well.)
OUTERWEAR
You can't go wrong with any of these jackets! Sherpa is my new obsession this winter, so I'm drooling over the Thread & Supply Arctic Fleece Vest and Brandon Fleece Jacket right now. Another coat I couldn't live without is my Madewell Fleet Jacket, and the green Halogen Hooded Anorak with Faux Fir Trim is a warmer, cheaper lookalike.
ACCESSORIES
I love it when Rebecca Minkoff goes on sale at Nordstrom! The Moonwalking Satchel is my top pick for the winter, but can so easily transition into a summer piece as well. Her leather wears out fabulously, so it's a bag I could see myself carrying into the far future as well. I'm also loving the Kate Spade Watson Lane Small Briley Velvet Clutch, especially in the color 'warm ginger'.
I can't wait to put my gift cards to good use! When it comes to picking items that will last the year through, I think winter sales are a great way to build up your closet. Even if you aren't wearing a winter jacket in July, it's still better to buy a classic style on sale at the start of winter than wait another year for new styles to roll out. Be sure to check out my New Year's Eve outfit inspo post, and happy shopping!
